In this case, however, one thing that is dangerous for us must be taken into account: the definition itself is retained in the file. Therefore, it will still be on the list and take an extra place.

It seems logical to assume that the AutoCAD block editor can help us in this case. But after experimenting with this instrument, we could absolutely make sure that it couldn't solve the problem.

But no time to get excited - there are other more effective ways. In particular, you can use the "CLEAR" command to remove unnecessary definitions. While there is a catch here, you need to make sure there are no block entries in graphics to ensure that this command actually runs correctly. As a result, they are removed in several steps - first, the blocks in our drawing are removed. Next, go to the Programs menu, from here select Utilities, then click Delete.

You can also use the command line if you want and specify a similar command here: Operations AutoCAD Utilities - Delete. The Cleaning Drawing dialog box that opens allows the user to see in more detail the tree of all the named objects that we can move to. Use the BLOCKS section to erase unused blocks from the entire drawing at once.

If only individual objects are to be deleted, double-click the "Blocks" element with the left mouse button. A general list of blocks appears from which you must select the blocks to be deleted.

Also, keep in mind that some of them may not appear initially in this list. Use the Show Items That Cannot Be Deleted option to see absolutely everything.

After deleting the required definitions, you will see an updated list of the definitions in your drawing.
