How did Mike Boyum die

M.ike Porcaro, bassist for the Californian rock band Toto from 1982 to 2007, died on Sunday night at the age of 59. This was confirmed by his brother, Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro. Mike Porcaro suffered from the nervous disease ALS.

“Our brother Mike died peacefully in his sleep at 12:04 last night at home with his family”wrote Steve Porcaro on Facebook. "Rest in peace, my brother." Toto guitarist Steve Lukather tweeted: “My brother Mike Porcaro is at peace now. I will miss him more than I could ever say. My thoughts are with his family. God Bless. "

Mike Porcaro replaced Toto's original bass player, David Hungate, shortly after the hit album “Toto IV” was released and from then on played together with his brothers Steve and Jeff Porcaro, the band's drummer, who died in 1992, on Toto's albums “Isolation” (1984 ) and "Fahrenheit" (1986). In 2007 Mike left Toto because of his deteriorating health, and in 2009 he was inducted into the Musician's Hall of Fame with the other band members.

Toto's new album, the first in ten years, will be released on March 20, the band will go on tour with it from May and will also give several concerts in Germany in the summer.
