If you are having suction problems with your central vacuum system, before making a call to get a repairman out, check the hose for clogs. First, plug the hose into the inlet and turn the system on. The clog should move enough to clog it easily, next, unhook the hose and push a broomstick through. Since the broomstick isn't long enough to reach through the entire hose, pull the hose towards you. This will allow you to wrap all of the hose around the broomstick, if all of that doesn't work and you have access to a plumber's line, run one through the hose. The unclogging process

Step 1 - Loosen the blockage

First, plug the hose into the inlet on the back and turn on the system. The clog should move enough to become clogged easily.

Step 2 - removing the clog

Then unhook the hose and push a broomstick through the hose. Since the broomstick isn't long enough to reach through the entire hose, pull the hose towards you. This will allow you to wrap the entire hose around the broomstick.

Step 3 - Remove Tough Clogs

If all of that doesn't work and you have access to a plumber's line, run one through the hose. This will definitely clear any blockages in the hose.
