How to pray eid salah sunnipath

Question:

How can the oath prayer be described?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah.

The Eid prayer is such that the Imam appears and leads the people in performing two rakaat. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The prayer of al-Fitr consists of two rakaat and the prayer of al-Adha consists of two rakaat, complete and not abbreviated, according to our Prophet, and the one who invents lies , is damned. "(An-Nasai, 1420; Ibn Khuzaimah of al-Albani in Saheeh an-Nasai classified as saheeh.)

It was narrated that Abu Said said, “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to come to the prayer place on the day of al-Fitr and al-Adha, and the first thing he did was to perform Prayer. "(Al-Bukhari, 956)

In the first raka he said Takbirat al-Ihram (saying Allahu akbar to begin the prayer), then said six or seven more takbir, according to the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): “The takbeer of Al-Fitr and al-Adha consists of seven takbeirs in the first raka and five takbeirs in the second, apart from the takbeer of the ruku. "(Abu Dawud; classified as saheeh by al-Albani in Irwa al-Ghalil, 639).

Then he should recite al-Fatiha and the Surah Qaf in the first raka. In the second raka he stands up, saying the takbeer, and when he is fully straightened he says the takbeer five times, followed by the sura al-Fatiha and the sura al-Qamr. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite these two suras during the two oaths. If he wishes, he can recite Sura al-Ala in the first raka and Sura al-Ghashiya in the second, for it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) al-Ala and al-Ghashiya in the oath prayer used to recite.

The imam should revive this sunnah by reciting the suras mentioned so that the Muslims would become familiar with the sunna.

After the prayer, the imam should speak to the people. A part of the khutba should specifically address the women to inform them of what to do and to warn them of what to avoid, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did used to do.

See Fatawa Arkan al-Islam by Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Uthaimin (may Allah have mercy on him), p. 398; Fatawa al-Lajna ad-Daima, 8 / 300-316.

The prayer comes before the khutba: One of the rules of the Eid prayer is that the prayer comes before the khutba, based on the hadith of Jabir Ibn Abd-Allah, which says: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ) came out on the day of al-Fitr and began praying in front of the Khutba. "(Al-Bukhari, 958; Muslim, 885)

Another indication that the khutba comes before prayer is the hadith of Abu Said (may Allah be pleased with him), which says: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was doing on the day of al-Fitr and al-Adha came to the prayer place and first he started the prayer, then he stood facing the people while they sat in their ranks and preached to them, admonished them and gave them instructions. If he wanted to send out an army, then he did it, and if he wanted to tell people something, then he did it, and then he went. "

Abu Said said, “People kept doing this until I went out on Eid ul-Adha or Eid ul-Fitr with Marwan - the governor of Madina - and we came to the prayer area where a minbar of Kathir Ibn as-Salt had been built. When Marwan was about to climb it before praying, I grabbed his sleeve, but he pushed me aside, climbed up and gave the khutba before prayer. I said, 'By Allah, you have changed it.' He replied, 'O Abu Said, what you knew is over.' I said, 'By Allah, what I know is better than what I do not know. 'He said,' People will not sit and listen to us after prayer, so we did it before prayer. '”(Al-Bukhari, 956)
