NFL News: Kansas City Chiefs sign Orlando Brown and drop four draft picks

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed offensive tackle Orlando Brown from the Baltimore Ravens. This is what Adam Schefter reports from ESPN. Accordingly, the chiefs trade for the Pro Bowler and give four draft picks in return.

The Ravens received the Chiefs first round pick (31) in the upcoming draft, as well as three more picks in 2021 and 2022. These are a third round pick (94) and a fourth round pick in 2021 (136) and a fifth round pick in 2022. Baltimore sends its part a 2021 second-round pick (58) and a 2022 six-round pick to Kansas City.

Brown, who mostly played the right tackle in Baltimore, had been toying with a move to the left for a long time. This wish is apparently fulfilled by the Super Bowl participant. At the Ravens, this role would have been played again in the coming season by Ronnie Stanley, who was injured in 2020, which is why Brown demanded a trade.

He is one of four offensive tackles elected to the Pro Bowl over the past two seasons (along with David Bakhtiari, Terron Armstead and Laremy Tunsil). In his career so far, Brown started in 42 games after being drafted in the third round by the Ravens in 2018.

In the line in front of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Brown represents a much-needed addition after the separation of Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher. Now the Chiefs have to agree on a new, highly dated contract with the 24-year-old, he is entering the last year of his rooki contract. Kansas City had already upgraded its offensive line with Guards Joe Thuney and Kyle Long.
