    Hello everybody

My announcement here in the forum "2 SH 300i via Finland to Grense Jakobslev (and possibly North Cape)"04/19/2018 11:28 am is done.

We're back. The SH worked wonderfully. No problem. I had the same luggage with me as on my R1200 GS Adv. Of course you notice the torsion of the chassis in bends with bumps ... but one after the other.

The tour begins via Travemünde with the ferry to Helsinki.

INSERT: Please note that there can be high mobile phone costs on ferries. Since roaming across the EU is pleasant, it can become a cost trap on the ship. Here you are connected to the ship's GSM (be careful not to use WiFi). And then cost around EUR 1.99 per 50 kB at Telekom, for example. This means that if you get a WhatsApp picture, you have to pay just under 5 euros. The know-it-all can skip this paragraph. For the factual, I like to stimulate the appeal ear. I myself know of 4 cases, including one with an 18,000 EURO bill from Telenor Maritim ... So mobile phone on flight mode or off.

When we arrived in Helsinki, we drove east to the Russian border. With wonderfully sunny weather and pleasant bike temperatures.

After our first night, we went to visit the silent people. This is a work of art, which is made up of many scarecrows (?). The Finns have time and dress the works of art according to the current season. Here we took great pictures with the drone. - Here, too, the advice that you should inform yourself BEFORE where you are flying ... legally as well as collectively! - To take the drone with me, I added a larger top case from Hepco & Becker.
The next milestone is Rovaniemi. We arrived here at 2 a.m. and moved into our comfortable hut. In the morning there was a big hello with the owner who speaks German very well. She had German as a subject in grammar school. Today she always reads two of the same novels in Finnish and in German.

The next day we first visited the airport. A very interesting loop can be seen at the check inn. Then we went to Santa Claus ... Back in our hut we thought about how to continue our journey. With the help of the WetterApp / Internet site www.yr.no, this has worked great for years. Unfortunately, the forecasts are rather wintry. We cancel Grense Jakobslev. Between +1 and +5 degrees in continuous rain. North Cape, well not rosy either. Gray, windy, ... bääääh. The rain and cold protection blanket from TUCANO-URBANA is great and helps me. There are also tough crazy people. In the weather conditions mentioned at the Cape, two Belgian motorcyclists pitch their two (!) Tents in the pouring rain. There were enough huts and we would have taken them both.

At the Cape we were then outside of the tourist rush hour. We have experienced the chapel in the 2nd basement extensively. Surrounded by granite in a quiet atmosphere, this is my favorite place on the Cape, which many travelers do not even notice. The weather conditions are so unpleasant for two-wheelers that we decide to flee south. The Norwegian coast, including Vesterålen, Lofoten, ... have thus been deleted.

We drive over the Inlandsvägen to the Jostedal. There have been 23 to 27 degrees for three weeks. Our friend reports that there is an increased risk of forest fires. Heavy rain is forecast for the next few days. We feel like we have a rain magnet with us somewhere. After a long time there, our journey continues over the Aurlandsfjellet to Oslo. In the fell we experience impressions live, as they are in the Norway brochure.

For the first time we take the ferry from Helsinki to Kiel. Sure, the cell phone is off ;-) The cruise is perfect. 2 p.m. departure and 10 a.m. arrival in Kiel. Well rested and with a very good breakfast, the ship releases us into the German traffic.
We will remember the trip. We are home 5 days earlier….

    Conclusion of this trip:
+ SH 300i suitable for long-distance travel, even on easy gravel roads
+ Rain and cold protection blanket, heated grips, windscreen, Garmin zumo
+ new rear shock absorbers - perfect
+ Panniers great - Thanks for the hint about the paint damage (see post ...)
+ ALL motorcyclists greeted us in Scandinavia!
+ Top petrol station network - 98 fuel
+ Pay everything with a credit card

    - Unfortunately, more and more garbage in the environment
    - Weather ;-)
    - Too short a trip
    - 4-tire drivers (car, motorbike, ..) who do not drive attentively

Many thanks to everyone who wished us a good trip in words or thoughts. Our thanks, of course, also go to our motorcyclists and women.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them, provided they are useful to the general public or via PM.

    Best regards from Gütersloh
    Hans and Ulli

Would have liked to upload pictures, but this is deactivated :-( Maybe the admin can change something ;-)

Jooh, the pictures are a shame for travel reports.

    I always knew
that a SHi300 is useful for more than childish acceleration orgies and irregular meandering through urban traffic jams.
    Thank you for the confirmation.

New shock absorbers? Do you have other better ones than the originals?

Oooh little monkey needs attention again
It's a shame that such a bird has to deface this thread again with its "campaign". Unfortunately not enough members ignore this spammer yet ...

Thank you for your feedback, it proves again that the SH is an extraordinary vehicle and not such a run-of-the-mill part like a wrecked KTM400.
The SH is therefore not only ideal for city traffic, but also for long-distance travel.

    Thanks for the travel report,
I have just been to the Alps for 4 days with my Innova.
It's a shame that this doesn't work with the photos. It's also a shame that you didn't have good weather.
I myself ride all year round with a scooter blanket, Givi washer and heated grips.
For me, the SH300 is a bad weather vehicle. The weather protection is great.
For good weather I have my innovas.

I wish you many more pleasant journeys with your Jehovahs.
Such a SH is just to be used for more than to, in my eyes pointless and brainless traffic light starts of
populist drivers with a pathological self-centeredness.

    Hello hatze,
thanks for the great travel report. It's great that the sh300 can also be used for long-distance travel. How many kilometers have you driven since?

It is a shame that no more pictures can be shown. If it stays that way, this will get more and more boring. Photos from trips and vacations in particular are an enrichment for every two-wheeler forum.

  • My son and his wife are currently traveling in Norway, with QEK Junior on an A6 as a towing vehicle. He lets us take part in his journey with Polarsteps "life", and the pictures trigger a "I want to go there too". Respect for driving such routes with the SH300. Even the 350 km criss-crossing through the northern Black Forest would have been too much for me with the SH300. Or maybe I'm spoiled with the ST1300.

I wouldn't want to rule out the latter.

But rumor has it that an ST1300 should also be suitable for long-distance travel.
(Sorry, but with the steep template .....;))

Thanks for the travel report. Well done! I'm sorry about the bad weather, unfortunately we also had that on our ascent ride into the Mediterranean.

Why shouldn't such a SH300 be suitable for medium distances? It doesn't need a major service every 3,000 km and the tires are worn out, among other things. not so rough because of the modest performance! And as long as a real Honda engine hums in there, a certain reliability can be expected. If you like the sitting position, you can use it to scrub beautiful day trips.

I always knew that nothing would pull me up to the North Cape. Because of the almost always bad weather and the cold. I'm too mature for that. : D: D: D

By the way, pictures can be easily uploaded, for example, to the Dropbox (and many other providers) and linked here.

Tell me colleague, is the ailment genetic or pathological with you that you even have to drag a positive expression from a member through the mud.
As for your personal aversions to people on the board, there is slowly enough hay down.
Too good German: Your hostility is increasingly annoying and is not worthy of the board!

Wrong movie? Isn't my problem if you can't read and think that this is a positive statement. Thinking a little before writing the text helps:
It has always been clear to me that a SHi300 is useful for more than childish acceleration orgies and irregular meandering through urban traffic jams.
    Thank you for the confirmation.

It's a shame that we have to explain it here, but the traffic light acceleration orgies, as they were passed around in the forum, are really childish and the meandering is actually illegal!

Perhaps you can read much better than I can, but in this case that doesn't necessarily mean that you would understand what is being written better, but that you feel affected yourself. This is probably not unfounded!
Maybe your own tip will help you a little: It helps to think a little bit before writing

Thanks for the travel report. Hippo has already mentioned the weather. Depending on the weather, there are areas where all the water comes down.
Unfortunately, the climate table says that the most rain falls in the warmest months. http://www.100urlaubsziel.de/…kandinavia/#klimatabelle

First, you could do something like that via PN and you would not have to deface threads, and second, that's way too stupid for me! You know very well that this oh-so-great comment has absolutely no business here and only serves one purpose. Thanks to you, the goal has now been achieved ... Bravo! Just try the little gray cell ...
