Flyanvil decision medieval where is the master

Your Otaku friend in Japan

You might recognize the story: An underdog teenager who is chased by a harem of girls who fight each other with magical powers in a high school tournament. This is a typical storyline that is probably the most clichéd premise in the anime industry of late. Chivalry of a Failed Knight, However, he challenged all overused elements of his genre and tried to give himself a paint job in order to stand out from the crowd. And it kind of worked.

The story is about Ikki Kurogane, an underperforming student who was nicknamed "The Worst" in his school for magic. Things change for Ikki, however, when Princess Stella Vermillion, the most promising Rank-A-Blazer (people with the ability to make weapons or devices that manifest themselves from their souls) challenges him to a duel. The loser has to obey the winner for the rest of his life. I don't know if you are, but I've never seen an action, romance, and ecchi series that involve real romance, including a relationship that mostly develops and progresses during the plot. That's probably the strongest component of this anime. Of course, the clichés are always present: One tsundere Girls with big breasts and the unnecessary fan service. Chivalry of a Failed Knight still manages to portray the story better than any other anime in the ecchi genre I've seen so far.

Whether you like a well-established romance, school life, cute girls or fighting tournaments with magical powers, here you will find a list of 10 recommendations that MANGA.TOKYO has put together and you definitely want to Chivalry of a Failed Knight will remember.

The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water

In this academy the students learn to control their powers and to duel against each other. Although he seems uninterested in the fights and has other reasons to enroll in this prestigious academy, his life changes when his classmate challenges him to a duel.

Okay, without exaggeration, these series are practically the same. An academy for fighters with special powers, a hot-headed main heroine who is a fire ruler and a princess, a fighting festival to determine the strongest swordsman and supporting characters who have similar personalities and characteristics. They even aired at the same time ... the only difference would be that Asterisk War Action oriented whileChivalry of a Failed Knight rather romantic and comedy oriented.

The Irregular at Magic High School

Spring 2014
26 episodes

Tatsuya is referred to the second course because of his magical incapacity. His peers are constantly harassing him. What they do not know is that he has exceptional technical knowledge, great fighting skills, and unique magical techniques that will make him stand out.

The male characters are in the same situation. Despite their physical strength and techniques, both are considered to be the weakest in their school due to the grading system. Both live with a heroine who is exactly the opposite of them. They have a similar relationship with their sister and it all takes place in a magical academy where the plot is based on a competition where they show their skills.

Absolute duo

Winter 2015
12 episodes

Tooru Kokonoe enrolls at the Koryo Academy after a traumatic accident in which his loved ones were killed. It is a school where each student manifests his or her soul as a weapon. At the opening ceremony, during which he has to duel against the person sitting next to him, he discovers, however, that his soul is not a weapon, but a shield.

Both series are based on light novels and contain many action and ecchi scenes. Another magical academy with special weapons, a main character with special skills that make him unique, a very powerful heroine who is a roommate of the male protagonist, and a harem atmosphere.

Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon

Fall 2015
12 episodes

In a world full of magical dangers, the military decides to use weapons to neutralize the magical threats. The Anti-Magic Academy is a school that specializes in training witch hunters. Still fighting with a sword and unable to use firearms, Takeru Kusanagi is referred to the 35th Test Platoon, a low-ranking team with incompetent members. But everything changes when Ouka Ootori, a strong elite student, is forced to join the team for breaking the rules.

Male characters are said to be losers even though they are quite strong and female characters are really capable and tough fighters. Both animes take place in a magical school setting based on action and fantasy. The only difference is that Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon equips characters with heavy weapons.

Blade Dance of the Elementalers

He then has to take part in a special tournament called Blade Dance, where the most powerful elementalist is selected to form a team with priestesses.

Another story about a magical academy and tournament to determine the strongest. Both series are about a red-haired Tsundere girl who can handle fire and has royal origins. They have very similar, almost identical, battle scenes, a decent story, and characters who share many personality traits in common.

Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle

Winter 2016

When he accidentally steps into the bathing zone of a girls' dormitory and sees Princess Lisesharte Atismata naked, she challenges him to a drag-ride duel. Ultimately, he attends the academy, which is exclusively for women, and trains royals to become drag knights.

Strong male characters who share an unhappy past, strange family relationships, and a younger sister with a brother complex. The female lead is again a princess who gets to know the main character in an embarrassing way, challenges him to a duel and then develops feelings for him. Similar harem and ecchi themes along with all the magical school focused fights.

Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor

Spring 2017
12 episodes

Your new teacher is lazy and disinterested in magic, which drives the entire class crazy. As soon as dark forces hit the school, their teacher will soon reveal his true abilities.

Both series use similar concepts and ancient tropes, but manage to stay interesting and compelling. Aside from the similarities between the main characters, the series actually share the same quality of comedy and are aware of the clichés they use. This gives both series a different twist than would normally be expected. Both have great animation and battle scenes, and the general vibe of Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor will certainly appeal to you Chivalry of a Failed Knight recall.

The Familiar of Zero

Summer 2006
13 episodes

Louise is a young magician who goes to Tristain Academy. It is a renowned school for magicians. When it usually takes a few years to evoke something familiar, Louise conjures a normal Japanese boy named Saito Hiraga in place of a cute magical creature. Now they both have to deal with their new friendship and help Saito to find his way back into his own world.

Another ecchi harem title that involves a master servant relationship. Female and male characters are nearly identical in terms of looks and abilities, and their relationship grows at the same rate. The Familiar of Zero is compared to Chivalry of a Failed Knight rather medieval, as Chivalry of a Failed Knight is more futuristic. Overall, however, the story is very similar.

Kaze no stigma

The romance of the two series feels very similar and the male and female protagonists do not hide their attractiveness from each other and manage to become a couple at the end of the series. The female lead is again a ruler of fire with tremendous fighting skills. The male lead is also quite strong, even if he was deemed weak and the family rejected him
