The klicksafe manual "Know-how for young users" is a practical introduction to the broad fields of online and network communications.

Based on the concept and experience of the klicksafe teacher training courses, it offers teachers and multipliers a wealth of useful assistance and practical tips for teaching. It is crucial that the units are easy to understand and that prior training or further education is not necessary.

The manual offers teaching units (i.e. worksheets to copy) in various degrees of difficulty for each youth media protection topic. Each topic has the same structure: factual information, links, methodological and didactic tips, worksheets for teaching.

The manual is divided into nine modules and contains various chapters as well as teaching units on the individual youth media protection topics. The modules with the topics and worksheets can be downloaded individually as PDF files.

The additional modules expand the range of topics of the basic version of the teacher's manual at regular intervals and open up new and current subject areas. The following modules are available as a supplement to the teacher's manual "Know-how for young users".

Bullying is an extreme form of aggressive behavior. It often shows itself in the coexistence between people when basic needs are violated. The new klicksafe teaching module "Ethics makes click - Values ​​Navi for digital life" offers a lot of information, suggestions and practical exercises on this topic. klicksafe has concentrated on three subject areas that require orientation: the protection of privacy, cyberbullying or online violence and gender sensitivity. The use of the new teaching module strengthens the personality of the young people and gives them a value-based attitude. In this way, they find their own way to find their way in the digital society.

Quickly looking up something in the online encyclopedia has become part of everyday online usage reality for many. Whether for homework, questions that arise in everyday life, or for teachers when preparing lessons - Wikipedia is particularly popular for quick research on a topic.

But still too few users know about the principles of Wikipedia. How is the content created? Does anyone control what is written? The teaching material allows insights behind the scenes of Wikipedia and is intended to teach students information literacy, source criticism and the joy of collaborative work in the knowledge community.

Salafist content can mainly be found in social media; the target groups include young people of different origins. The need for community, identity and meaning is served as well as the desire for adventure and entertainment. Almost all young people and more and more children use the Internet today: to play, listen to music, do research for school and to communicate with each other. This new communication behavior holds great opportunities. You can present yourself, share something about yourself and your preferences through music, films, photos and network and exchange ideas with others to an unprecedented level. However, this also harbors legal pitfalls.

Because from a legal point of view, there is a fundamental difference between saying something to someone's face and posting the same thing on Facebook, where many others can read it. It is also completely different whether you burn a music CD at home and give it to a friend or whether you upload the same pieces of music to RapidShare or save them in a shared folder on the PC, which all other users of a file sharing platform can access and download the files . Not everything that goes on the Internet is allowed!

Let's talk about porn! Youth sexuality, internet and pornography

Nude photos and porn are now more or less freely available to young people on the Internet. But a lot of this sexualised media content can unsettle and overwhelm them, warn youth activists. The klicksafe additional module, which was developed in cooperation with pro familia Bayern and the state media center Baden-Württemberg, provides background information for teachers and specialists as well as specific modules for teaching and youth work on the subject of "Puberty 2.0: Growing up in sexualized worlds". The booklet is divided into four components: 1. Life in puberty, 2. Ideals of beauty in our society, 3. Pornography on the Internet and 4. Sexualized communication. The offer also includes practical materials and methodological suggestions, for example on the question of how young people learn to deal with the pressure built up in the media to be supposedly physically attractive and "sexy".

The klicksafe manual "Ethics makes click. Opinion formation in the digital world" provides insights into the information behavior of young people, offers assistance in analyzing and recognizing disinformation strategies and shows the effects of misinformation on a democratic society. The focus is on a media ethical roadmap, a compass of competencies: This includes methodological competence (how do I get information?), Technical competence (what knowledge of media and digital publics do I have?), Social competence (how do I behave in discussions?) and ethical competence (how can I develop an attitude?).
