Hello, this is my discussion page. Questions and Hints below this line:

Image: Aprilwetter.jpg [edit]

Hello. I saw your photo Image: Aprilwetter.jpg. The caption at Commons: Picture of the day is "April Weather, fast changing Weather". Where was the photo taken? Germany? April weather is different in various places, so I reccomend you add more information about the photo, such as where and when the photo was taken .-- Moja 07:47, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

This information was already included in the description, but I added a bit of information. --Stefan-Xp 13:07, August 13, 2005 (UTC)
I didn't know Meersburg is a city name. Thank you - Moja 05:59, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
Oh no problem, you're right it was my fault. --Stefan-Xp 08:04, August 14, 2005 (UTC)

Image: Alpensteinbock.jpg [edit]

Hello, we could actually insert the picture workshop as a component and also refer to the BW of other languages! --Flominator 23:03, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Servus, that's how I imagined it, but the building blocks of the French WP have disappeared, at least I don't find any More ... in the Commons, maybe you can point it out in the category: Edited images ... --Stefan-Xp 06 : August 30, 2005 (UTC)

Image: Meersburg-Marktplatz.jpg & de: Image: Meersburg-webcam3.jpg [edit]

Hoi Stefan, I can't quite see who the picture is from, on the one hand V.L. (according to DE) and on the other hand you write your nick anywhere. According to the source it is actually clear (see in DE). Would be nice if you could enlighten me. With the licenses the same way, from PD to GNU? greeting Darkone(¿!) 13:36, September 18, 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I'm sorry for the mess, that's what you call a systematic error: - / I had used the wrong template, apart from that, the GFDL was already in the template, but I think I solved it successfully. Today is just not my day .. --Stefan-Xp 15:51, September 18, 2005 (UTC)

Image: Wellen-Brechung.png [edit]

Hello, I used an image for fi: Huygensin periaate (and uploaded this image from the German Wikipedia). Thank you, a great drawing. :) -Aslak 17:19, November 1, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! I thought already about moving all my images to the commons, but I wasn't motivated (and still not). But its nice to know that the Image is useful in an other WP than the german ;-) --Stefan-Xp 17:50, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Image: Energy production in Germany 2004.png [edit]

I submit a request for deletion for the picture, it represents the generation of energy in Europe or the EU and not in Germany. (In addition, the source information for the figures is missing - that alone would not be a reason for deletion) Greetings Hadhuey 10:07, 3 December 2005 ( UTC)

OK. which numbers are then the right ones? maybe I can correct it too. --Stefan-Xp 10:20, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
noticed the whole thing here. in the section "Electricity generation from wind energy". Regards Hadhuey 12:17, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

Decision tree [edit]

Many Thanks. under under should become under (right). Greetings - Historiographer 18:36, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Where did it end up? --Stefan-Xp 20:09, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

? in de.wikipedia.org under Wikipedia: Image rights - Historiographer 23:42, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Oh there it is, but unfortunately I don't know exactly what you mean ... --Stefan-Xp 17:31, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

The third oval from the left says "under under", although it should only be under once. You made a mistake when labeling the ovals by making a mistake under wrote twice. I hope you now understand what I want. Please recreate the image without typing errors. Thanks - Historiographer 22:02, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

OK, done. I was probably a bit blind again, sorry ;-) --Stefan-Xp 22:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Image: Cottbus's Stadtteile.svg [edit]

Hi stefan. Your work in full honor, but you have built a nasty, disgusting Anglicism into the picture name, namely the notorious idiot apostrophe, also called apostrophitis. Schaengel89 20:16, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

So should it be called Image: Cottbus' Stadtteile.svg? --Stefan-Xp 21:04, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

yep. Schaengel89 19:15, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Or would you prefer an image: districts of Cottbus.svg? --Stefan-Xp 21:14, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Both would be grammatically correct. I would have already done it, unfortunately I can't save SVG. Schaengel89 15:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Done :-) --Stefan-Xp 18:38, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Another question: How do you "do" and how do you save SVG? Schaengel89 15:58, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Either with w: de: Inkscape (free) or with w: de: CorelDRAW (older versions are relatively cheap) ... You save them by exporting them as * .svg ... --Stefan-Xp 16: February 18, 2006 (UTC)
If you mean to save svgs from the commons, try saving as ... --Stefan-Xp 16:20, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Somehow it doesn't work as it should: Image: District map Koblenz-Arenberg.svgSchaengel89 21:42, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
hmm ... I think you tried to simply integrate a png graphic that is only saved locally on your PC (C: \ Documents and Settings \ Michael \ My Documents \ My Downloads \ 643px-Bezirkkarte_Koblenz-Arenberg.png) . If you want to create an svg, you have to trace the streets or parts of the city, etc. Because svg and png are fundamentally different: Png is a pixel graphic format, svg a vector graphic format. --Stefan-Xp 11:58, February 4, 2006 (UTC)
Is all the information contained in the SVG? Well, after trying for a long time, because that involves studying, I managed to export a bitmap to the vector graphic. Just how do I save that thing? Or what would be even better: Do you know a tourorial that could teach me? How did you learn Schaengel89 18:09, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Yep, I read in the svg. IMHO there can be no simple "export" as vector graphics, there are only programs that "vectorize" pixel graphics that would work. I actually learned it just by trying. Unfortunately I don't know any tutorial. You can try out a few streets or something, export them as an svg and upload them. Then these should theoretically be visible. --Stefan-Xp 18:24, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
yes, vectorize !!!! that's it, don't export. Inkscape has its own tab for that. So, trace ... In the figurative sense, that would be like "copying" something with a blueprint? Am I seeing that correctly? Schaengel89 19:17, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
hmm .. I've never used vectorization before, but it seems suboptimal to me ... tracing is better, with a little imagination I would rather call it tracing. --Stefan-Xp 22:22, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Trace, copy with blueprint ... same for me. But don't care. Now let's get to the important part: How do I trace? Thank you for your patience, Schaengel89 10:03, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
If you have the picture in Inkscape, then you can simply draw the streets, areas, rivers etc. with the different shapes. it should go well with the "drawing of curves and degrees lines". You can then curve straight lines with the 2nd from above. Freehand would also be possible, but you need a fairly steady hand for that. --Stefan-Xp 11:40, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
So, I have now drawn all the contours of a district map of Koblenz with Inkscape. How do I save the whole thing? Have a try here, but apparently saving didn't work. BTW: How do I add colors to fields? Schaengel89 12:57, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
I took out the picture (could not be displayed) and adjusted the viewbox a bit with the help of the page size. Unfortunately, that with the colors is a bit more complicated because you need closed lines for it. --Stefan-Xp 14:11, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
I did it, but only with a very, very suboptimal trick, unfortunately it didn't turn out very well either ... --Stefan-Xp 14:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
I think so. Apart from the fact that I still didn't understand ... How do I change the color to highlight certain fields? Schaengel89 15:15, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
For this you would have had to draw the fields individually and completely so that the field is enclosed, so to speak, then there is object / filling and contour to change the filling --Stefan-Xp 17:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
And afterwards it becomes difficult, as this example shows. And now please tell me again what I do when I have drawn lines over a PNG. Schaengel89 19:29, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
You should have circled each district individually from the start, as it is now, there's nothing else to do but fiddle around with the colors. In theory, it shouldn't be particularly difficult if you take the colors behind the lines. But I'm also not sure whether it is so useful to mark all the districts individually ... --Stefan-Xp 21:07, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Phew, pretty complicated. Why can't I just convert the images like I do when I have a GIF file and want to make a PNG out of it ???? Why is the world so complicated? Well, I know that SVG are fundamentally different to pimple graphics .... Can't you just give me a step-by-step list of how to turn a PNG into an SVG? E.g .: 1. Trace the contours. 2. [....] Would be extremely helpful :) Schaengel89 21:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
In order to create a clean svg graphic, one should pay attention to the following things:
  1. Import image target into the program (the image that will later become svg)
  2. Trace contours (will simply be much better than the vectorization result)
    1. For the contours, proceed in such a way that a partial area of the image is completely outlined so that these partial areas can be colored or similar later.
  4. After all contours have been drawn, you can color the areas as you want.
  5. Finally save as svg.

ImageUploadDecision Tree ... [edit]

Hi Stefan,

  1. have just entered "my youngest child" in your picture description.
  2. Isn't there an "official" method of giving descriptions in foreign languages? Suppose you had reasons to write your own template, or whatever it is called - which ones?
  3. For these Graphics would, however, be in a better order of entries: DE first, because who else is interested, at best, just because of curiosity. Is the order for the "official" entry fixed, or can I control it by the order of my details? Can you ... me this once pretend? You're welcome.
  4. In OV = you have a typo: similar should be there.
  5. As a layperson, how do I get a list of those who, for example, have Babel language level 4 (or otherwise get access to highly competent translators)?
  6. Can you easily check whether my picture can be made smaller? I don't think so much that something else will come from dbenzuhser. But don't tear yourself off, as they say in this country _ With regards, WolfgangW., D.e.r layman 08:10, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Wolfgang,
  1. I think it's good
  2. Not that I know. For me, this made the description faster (I only have to change 2 or three things and the template is already set for me) and more uniform for my pictures, and I can also find them better this way.
  3. In my template you can't change the order unless you change it in the template, which I would see as an insult to the rest of the world.
  4. The I am about to change I changed
  5. Category: User or inquire at Commons: Village pump.
  6. I don't think I can get it smaller without reducing the resolution. (I reduced the colors, which made it a bit smaller) You can save it again under a file name of your choice. --Stefan-Xp 10:23, February 27, 2006 (UTC)
Dear Stefan, "in principle: thank you" (Radio Eriwan;)
ad2-3) That for as good as anything that is uploaded to Commons except German language tutorials, the order has to be different: ACK.
ad4) -strike is too cryptic for me, already forgot I am THE Layman, so the Luminary in the field "Don't" ;)) (this just by the way, if I have it still should not have sufficiently proven;)
ad5) I'll do it, I promise, but mine wikistress is currently at 100+ (not quite the same as two days ago, when it was measured 103.46778980517). Today only around 100.46778980517.
ad6) Yes, _that is why_ I speak up here;) I noticed it on the screen during an interim check: With resolution, nothing is nothing more, it has been tested and definitely eaten. Which had two of you reduced colors I deliberately keep because such dark text fields are difficult to read, on the other hand the little arrow tails, if lighter, are too dull, if NOT framed (= black contour). Thirdly, the different colors make repair work easier. Fourth, reducing DIE doesn't really help anymore. I wanted to sleep through ALL of this for another 2-3 days; if the lines are framed, they must be narrower. Ultimately, they are kinkerlitz that can only be eaten after a Legal OK came.
Question: Is the effort justifiable for you to make a few (5-7) other similar "reductions"? Do you do it with pngout? Request for this: Upload (for the samples) on de: WP or Commons? I would simply transfer the final result to C. afterwards and have the rest quickly deleted if necessary, but NOW a certain range of variants should be available for a quick comparison (IMO this can be ticked off in 3 days, when carnival is over and those who participate want, all of them clean and are available;)) and got involved. _ With regards, WolfgangW., D.e.r tried layperson 12:20, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
I did that with Corel Photo Paint. How did you even create the picture? maybe it would also be useful to upload it as * .svg, then it would be easier to create other language versions. --Stefan-Xp 12:28, February 27, 2006 (UTC)
  • ADO ** PS6, borrowed;) AND I'm working away from screenshots, ie text in Word, screen size so that it is barely legible (specifically 110% of a 9pt Helvetica bold, which I (not bold, of course; ) for my private correspondence too; then screenshot with "simple screenshot", open in PS, installation of cut-out areas in the graphic intended for viewing on the screen. Manual work, among professionals probably "the devil", but I can pretty well estimate what on the other end comes on the table as long as it remains unscaled.
  • Actually only up to PS5 somehow played along, The 6 series was given to me by Sohnemann coerced and I never really brained it (also for lack of good reason).
  • SVG: as far as I'm concerned, pretty much NO. Today I tried to open an orphaned graphic "First Aid" from a certain Dü * and a pile of risk reports from Firefox (I am pretty sure I won't install anything else in this life / hmm, I won't get installed - this is speaking the approximate DAU;).
  • If I want to do something for the screen, I “carve” it for THEM, as can be seen from the history of the creation of “the picture”.
  • I hate Corel for some time (after v4.x, so 1995?), Because later after its installation it used to claw "pretty much everything" under the nail that was ever to be found on the HD. Just that I was allowed to open a something-you-don't-say-WORD without im Corel to land - nothing for me. The *** program even tears down PDFs if possible, and without being able to edit them properly, of course. If it's with PNG Well can handle, great! ;)) but for that alone I certainly won't do it to myself anymore. Sooo many transparent backgrounds I do not intend to give humanity any more;))) _With greetings, WolfgangW., D.e.r tried layman 13:26, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Hello Stefan, were the black borders around the elements, which are now up to 3 px wide, a by-product of using Corel, or did you intend the widespread borders? i didn't think it would be good to take more than 1 px. Next question: discuss this further here, or on de: Wikipedia Discussion: Image tutorial / 1 # decision tree graphic (where it fits better)? Incidentally, I uploaded BildUploadEntscheidungsbaum_0227_c10h_12k_BG_transpCorelBarbeitung.png yesterday, but forgot to mention it to you. _ With regards, WolfgangW., D.e.r tried layperson 12:38, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
I was a bit muddy with the borders, I would have had to save the graphic on my PC first and then open it, if you simply copy PNG graphics with transparency, the transparency appears black in other programs (also when printing) - Stefan-Xp 12:54, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Ah, Thanks. I removed the link in the chapter heading because SLA (from me, picture is outdated). For now I'm not bothering you with transparencies, since this afternoon a few lawyers (?) Have been giving feedback. The factually discussed picture is now appropriately called Image: Discussed Decision Tree.png, the HG can still be cut out at the end if the picture "stands", I would ask you to do so. With greetings, _With greetings, WolfgangW., D.e.r tried layman 16:00, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Image: Grosshansdorf Wappen.png [edit]

Hello Stefan-Xp, what is the request for vandalism? The horse with rider is white and not transparent and this poison green is cruel! If you want to reformat it as SVG, don't force yourself and if the situation is slow, I could also send you a list of coats of arms that still need to be edited. - Ditschi 17:11, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm ... I probably got a little wrong in the paint pot ... Or rather, my graphics program output the colors differently ... I didn't even notice ... The tab is now white again, unfortunately the green is still Acid green, but I think I'll create it in svg --Stefan-Xp 19:27, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
ici --Stefan-Xp 20:57, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Thank-you! As I said, if you feel like reworking in svg, I would have to suggest the coats of arms of Wedel, Rosdorf and Kiel (practically three in one), I somehow can't handle it, the programs are perhaps too complicated for me. Greetings --Ditschi 22:47, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Let's see ... Wedel's is too difficult, I'll have a look at the others at home ... Stefan-Xp 09:38, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

I was actually hoping that you would exchange the pictures ... --Stefan-Xp 19:01, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Photoelectric effect diagram.png f axis [edit]

Image: Fotoelectrischereffekt -diagram.png It is a good diagram, but the f axis should be fix. There should be 1014 Hz instead of Hz. If it would be in SVG I would fix it. Could you upload in that format? (It is quite good format, but arrows are not shown correctly with the Wikipedia :-(.) - Arpad Horvath 15:52, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your remark, I didn't see that. I'm looking for the File, I believe I can also upload an svg version ... --Stefan-Xp 18:27, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
See: Image: Fotoelectrischereffekt -diagram.png it looks almost nice but the 10 ^ 14 don't work ... --Stefan-Xp 19:00, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

How do you like the new SVG version. There is not so language depending part as f in ... For me, in the Hungarian Wikipedia W without A got better. (We use ki = off.) Maybe I'll do a Hungarian version. Did you know Einstein wrote A. (Work), no W.? - Arpad Horvath 14:36, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

The new version is very nice! I didn't know that fact, but its logical ... i can't believe that the globalization took place in that time .... --Stefan-Xp 15:15, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Image: Meersburg coat of arms 2.svg [edit]

Hello Stefan,

the picture does not sort correctly within the category: Coats of arms of municipalities in Baden-Württemberg. Instead of under "Meersburg" it only appears at the very end after "Zw ..". This is probably due to your submission, I don't know how to correct it. Please take care of that. Best regards --Rosenzweig 16:31, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the hint. I just changed it. --Stefan-Xp 16:56, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Graphic abilities [edit]

Hello, can you tell me if the de: Wikipedia: Bilderwerkstatt work well or not, the french one work about 30 pics / month, what about your german project?
French wikigraphists are talking about copy / paste the french project to commons this summer, like this german, french, english and other wikigraphist will have a common center to talk and work. French project will still stay the main place for french wikigraphists, de project for german wikigraphists, etc. Can you talk about this issue to some other deustch wikigraphists please? see you ~ yug 12:46, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to announce it at the discussion page of the Bilderwerkstatt. In the german one, we retouch between 20 and 40 in a month, but I'm not very sure about this, but i believe it works well. Perhapps you've already seen the {{Bilderwerkstatt}} template ... on the other Hand we already have Commons: WikiProject Illustration ... what gain do you expect from a c & p movement to commons? --Stefan-Xp 16:17, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Tuning World pictures [edit]

Hello Stefan, thank you for uploading so many pictures of the Tuning World. Perhaps you can upload the remaining ones when you get the chance and, if in doubt, simply sort them under Category: Unidentified automobiles. More users will probably look there and be able to assign the appropriate models. Thanks and greetings - MB-one 18:21, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
