How To Make Hard Hat Cake Pops

RecipeCake-Pops basic recipe

Versatile classic: With this basic recipe you can easily prepare and decorate cake pops from the finished cake base.

  • 300 g light or dark cake base (finished product or homemade)
  • 60 g soft butter
  • 70 g powdered sugar
  • 140 g double cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp rum or a few drops of baking flavoring (as desired)
  • 150 g dark chocolate couverture
  • Sugar decor
  • 18 wooden sticks

We recommend products from our partner Fackelmann for this purpose

  1. Finely crumble the cake. For the cream cheese cream, mix the butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese and rum thoroughly with the hand mixer for approx. 3 minutes. Gradually stir in enough cream cheese cream into the crumbs with a spoon until the mixture is easy to shape. However, it must not be too damp and not stick to the hands while molding.
  2. Cut off 18 portions from the mixture and shape them into a round shape. Chill the balls for 30 minutes. In the meantime, chop the couverture and melt it over the warm water bath. Dip the wooden sticks one after the other about 1 cm deep into the couverture and stick them into the balls. Place on a plate and cool for another 15 minutes.
  3. Reheat the couverture if necessary. Dip a cake pop at a slight angle and turn it over with couverture. Shake off excess couverture by tapping on the edge of the bowl. Turn the cake pop so that no noses form. Decorate with sugar decorations if you like and let dry. Do the same with the other cake pops.
