How to Block the Ads and Pop-ups in Google Chrome

You can disable annoying advertisements in Google Chrome using the browser settings. However, this does not block all advertisements, only offensive or questionable advertisements and redirects are not allowed. Make sure that the following settings are enabled:
  1. First, open Chrome and click on the menu. You can recognize this by the three points.
  2. Now click on “Settings”.
  3. Go to "Data protection and security" via the navigation on the left.
  4. Then click on "Website settings".
  5. You will now see a list with various setting options. First find “Pop-ups and redirects” in the list. Click on the entry and block it.
  6. Now switch back to the list and click on "Advertisement". The menu is located directly under the entry you previously selected.
  7. Check “Blocked on websites that display intrusive or misleading advertisements” here.

Block even more ads

If you want to be confronted with as little advertising as possible while surfing, you should install a Google Chrome add-on. To do this, go to the Chrome Web Store website in Chrome and look for an ad blocker. Once added, it will block ads and videos on the vast majority of websites.
