In front of the staff in the teachers' room, the minister briefly explained the state government's intentions on school policy, which has a very special priority in the current legislative period. Justice Minister Dr. Wagner, together with the chairperson of the school parents' council, Ms. Hormel, the chairperson of the staff council, Ms. Eichhorn, and the school management have current questions about the school, such as missed lessons, looking after the IT equipment, the scope of the department heads, assigning teachers, etc. Klaus Fenner The photo shows Minister of State Dr. Christean Wagner in the KSM teacher's room together with the headmaster Klaus Fenner, Heinz Dilling and Bernhard Drude from the state education authority and deputy headmaster Hermann Schorge and Gottfried Melnyk from the school staff council (from left to right) Photo: private 13th grade evaluates customer satisfaction - 24 students swap school and weight bench The idea for this project came up in the spring of 2000. At this point in time, “Vita fitness” already had 1,500 members, and customer satisfaction and quality assurance should now be in the foreground. A member survey could provide the necessary information. 4th year KiK # 4 page 3 13th grade evaluates customer satisfaction - 24 students swap school bench with weight bench In discussions with the managing director Uwe Happel and several colleagues from the commercial schools, including project manager Bernd Simon, an interdisciplinary project developed in the 13th grade with the participation of the subjects economics, mathematics, data processing and sport. In October 2000 around 600 questionnaires were then given out to customers. 350 questionnaires were answered by the members, about 30% of them with partly detailed comments, some of which were not written without humor: “You should extend the classification levels E = beginner to F = advanced by one level: How about the Level GM = gross motor men? ”Then around 12,000 answers had to be entered into a database set up by the students. These data were statistically evaluated in mathematics lessons and the results were evaluated and interpreted in economics lessons with subsequent recommendations for “vita fitness”. The students were also particularly attentive customers during this time. They were allowed to use the offers in "vita" free of charge for one year and completed their physical education there. The KSM students in “vita-fitness” - Photo: Bernd Simon They trained strength and endurance in a targeted manner and took part in various courses. They recorded their training and course experience and were thus able to evaluate the results of the customer survey even better. But they also knotted their legs while doing hip-hop, trying to survive spinning without a drink and using the bicycles in the endurance test up to performance level 20. Based on the evaluation of the results of the questionnaires, the students of the WirtschaftslehreMarketing high-level course made recommendations to "vita- fitness ”pronounced. The project participants expected that the satisfaction of the members would increase even further through suitable measures and that they would feel even more comfortable in “vita”. However, the teachers and students also benefit from this project. The teachers look beyond their own subject and experience new forms of teaching. The students experience very practical learning content and acquire important key qualifications. And finally, the quote from student Anna-Maria Völker: “The entire project is just great fun!”: “Vita news”, May 2001 edition, 4th year KiK # 4 Page 4 You can lose money quickly on the stock exchange “G -brokers “from the Marburg commercial school have lost € 10,000 of their fictitious playing capital. Another team from the commercial schools took part in the young broker game and had to prove their knowledge of the new and established markets. The name of the team: the “G-brokers”. The four-person team of young shareholders relied on shares in Adidas, Salomon, Infineon, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp and BASF. In doing so, the “G-BROKERS” had to make the painful experience that money can be lost quickly on the stock exchange. "We bought a lot of Infineon shares, but they then lost value," said team member Jonas Richter. "A total of € 10,000 was lost", added the game director Elisabeth Kattenborn. Overall, the school team rated the stock market game as a good opportunity to get an insight into what is happening on the stock exchanges. However, just like some teams before, the students drew attention to a major disadvantage of the stock market game compared to reality: "It takes too much time from the order to the acceptance of the orders," said the team members unanimously. This circumstance ensured that it was not possible to react quickly enough to the latest developments on the national and international stock exchanges. In addition, access to the Internet from school is often very difficult, complained the business teacher Diana Wolf. Although there are numerous computers in the school, these are already occupied by other students. Therefore, the Internet can only be accessed by making an appointment in advance. But the “G-brokers” know how to help each other: “There are also internet cafés,” said Susanne Schubert and Izabela Gierlotka. Pupils from the commercial schools create new websites The working group's project took several months to complete. In June 2000, the IT trainees from the commercial schools in Marburg presented their new internet project for the first time. For several months, the students in the information and telecommunications professions have been working on a joint project to create a new website for the commercial schools. The students had set themselves the goal of completely redesigning the school website, which had been in existence for five years. The working groups began by defining criteria for the design of a good page. In addition, they conducted research on the Internet, analyzed the homepages of other schools and companies, evaluated tips for good web design and interviewed around 400 people involved. Student Dirk Hupfeld led through the presentation of the project. The web pages, old and new, were projected onto the wall. The students appeared in small groups and explained the structure of each page. Fabian Restle and Thorsten Eckel commented on the meaning and purpose of the survey, while Oliver Jankowski and Carsten Wackernagel presented the content of the homepage in detail. 4th year KiK # 4 Page 5 Pupils from the commercial schools create new websites In the past school year, the students created a new website on this basis. J. was introduced. The technical implementation was largely carried out by Harry Schoradt. In addition to the usual administrative information, the new website will also contain various school projects that will be updated by the website supervisors. The 23 students in class 11 ZA 02 made the fewest mistakes when answering the questions from the areas of economics, social affairs and general knowledge. The competition is organized every year by the Wirtschaftsjunioren, an association of entrepreneurs up to the age of 40, and is especially carried out in vocational schools. "For the first time, schoolchildren who do not have an economic or commercial focus have won first place," explained Henner Geil from the Kassel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who oversees the competition, what is special about this year's winners, who are training to be dental assistants. “Dental assistants must also be familiar with the economy and socio-political issues,” explained the class’s economics teacher, Hans-Otto Lyongrün. 4th year KiK # 4 page 6 Teamwork with computer company - vocational school breaks new ground The commercial schools in Marburg and the Marburg company [email protected] (Computer At Work) have carried out a unique cooperation between school and company. As part of a practice-related project, the students from the “Two-Year Vocational School for Foreign Language Secretariat” organized the company's outing to EXPO 2000 and supervised it on site. According to the commercial schools, this cooperation is necessary because fewer and fewer companies are currently training. Consequently, the lesson content must be as realistic as possible. Cooperation between companies and schools is all the more important in this context. The commercial schools in Marburg have now followed this path. Her goal was that the pupils could use the company [email protected] to share their theoretically acquired knowledge on the subject of preparing for a business trip
