ESRI ArcView Drive Code Page Profile

Category: configuration and setting

The file extension dcp is used for so-called Drive Code Page Profiles of the geographic information system (GIS) software ArcView. ArcView (from version 8) is part of ArcGIS Desktop and itself consists of the programs ArcMap and ArcCatalog.

dcp files contain information for the code page conversion, more precisely which directory and drive is provided with which code page. This is necessary if the code page, i.e. the character table used in a data record, differs from that of the own operating system.

The standard dcp file is located etc / default.dcp in the ArcView program directory. Your own dcp file can be stored in the $ Home directory (name of the dcp file must be default.dcp), which is then preferably used by ArcView.
